Event Details

College essays and high school English essays are different, and in this workshop, you will learn what colleges are looking for in your responses, how to interpret the prompts on the UC Application and the Common App, and how to choose your best topics. Exercises and brainstorming activities will enable students to focus on their thoughts and tips will also be shared on writing strategies and how to be organized and meet those all-important deadlines.

Certified college counselor Marilyn van Löben Sels has been working with students and their families for over 20 years and presenting college workshops since the library opened in 2010.

Registration is required as space is limited. You may register at the library desk or online at saclibrary.org (please fill out the form on the left).

This program is sponsored by the Pocket-Greenhaven Friends of the Library.
