The Alzheimer’s
Association will present their class, “Healthy Living for your Brain and Body,”
which shares research in the areas of diet and nutrition, exercise, cognitive
activity, and social engagement to create a plan for healthy aging. After the
class, participants will create a lap-size fidget blanket using supplies
provided by the Sacramento Public Library, including sewing machines, fabric,
and “fidget items” (zippers, buttons, clips, etc). Though the design and
construction is up to you, a sewing instructor will be on-site to provide assistance.
Fidget blankets may be taken home to give to a loved one or donated to a local
memory care facility. Experience with basic sewing techniques is preferred, but
not required.
