Join us for "Journaling for Mental Health," led by local creative writing specialist, Nena Larieze. In this 2-hour program, you will explore artistic methods of decompression through self-expression, poetry, meditation, and art. Themes of emotional intelligence and resilience will be explored through reflective prompts and journaling activities to liberate, empower, and heal. Beginner and experienced writers are welcome.

Registration via Zoom is required. Please click here to register. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to join the program.

WHILE SUPPLIES LAST:  Journaling kits are available for participants to continue practice beyond the workshop. Kits include a journal, pen, and resources. Must be able to pick up kit from a Sacramento Public Library location. If you would like to receive a kit, please register for the program, then email Katie Ball at kball@saclibrary.org with the library location closest to you.

From the instructor: Before I am an educator, I am a writer, and before I am a writer, I am a mother to three, fiercely independent and compassionate children. Over the past fifteen years, I have held several positions in education, including being a graduate writing consultant, an English high school teacher, a college professor, and most recently a program coordinator for a local, educational nonprofit, 916 Ink. I am a published author and a doctoral candidate studying Educational Leadership and Innovation, at the University of the Pacific, where I research trauma-informed curriculum and resilience. I look forward to writing with you soon!
