Christian Cooper will be visiting the library in person to discuss his book Better Living Through Birding: Notes from a Black Man in the Natural World. Cooper is a science and comics writer. As one of Marvel’s first openly gay writers, Cooper introduced the first gay male character in Star Trek and the first openly lesbian character for Marvel. Cooper now hosts the National Geographic series Extraordinary Birder.
