Do you identify as under-represented in the outdoor industry and newer to hitting the trails? Join hiking book author Felicia Kemp for a beginner-level and accessible Sacramento hike on the American River Parkway to learn how to get more comfortable outdoors while protecting yourself and the life around you.

Location: 7929 La Riviera Drive Sacramento, CA 95826 American River Parkway - Howe Avenue River Access 

Registration is required for this event. 

All attendees will need to complete a waiver of liability to participate upon arrival.

This event is open to all ages, identities, and abilities.

What to expect: 

• We will gather at the American River Parkway Howe Avenue River Access at 7929 La Riviera Drive Sacramento, CA 95826

• Free parking will be available for registered participants. 

• Program staff will be available at the parking to help guide you to the meeting location.

• To maximize your experience, please plan to arrive 15 minutes early to ensure we may begin on time.

• We will start with brief introductions and a safety briefing.

• The group will walk / hike at a leisure pace until we reach Guy West Bridge, with a short talk and Q&A at the end.  Some program staff will turn back with those who want to return and those who want to continue on an additional 4 miles may do so with Felicia and the rest of the team..

• This event is open to all ages, identities, and abilities.
