Join us as SPL archivist and historian James Scott presents "Doing Good for the Living": Sacramento, World War I, and the Emergence of the Living Memorial. As we move toward Memorial Day, this Zoom presentation will be a deep dive into the post-World War I concept of the "living memorial" and its presence in the Interwar Sacramento. What are the origins of the living memorial? Why was is so well suited for Sacramento? And, what sort of a footprint do they maintain today, nearly 100 years after their establishment?
