Saturday, August 31, 2024

Event Details

Join us for all of July and August as cultural historian Esther Roman shares her collection of African American memorabilia through "Looking Back at Black," an exhibit that will reside in the lobby of Central Library. From life-saving inventions to artisanal dolls to a series of commercial items, Roman's exhibit seeks to highlight the massive contributions made by African Americans to the nation and world, but also document and address the long legacy of racism in America. Roman will also provide a presentation on the collection and speak to the stories behind her many pieces on August 3 at 1 pm in the West Meeting Room at Central Library.

No registration is required, and the program is free to attend.
