Join us at Central Library from January 23 to March 16 for "Take Me to the Water: Histories of the Black Pacific," a multi-media exhibit that captures the historic panorama of the Black experience with the Pacific Ocean. Curated by Dr. Caroline Collins, Take Me to the Water seeks to recenter the relationship between African Americans, water, and ships, moving beyond the entrenched narrative of the Trans-Atlantic slave trade and towards the understanding that Black people have not only existed in the Pacific region for centuries, but played an integral role in the development of Pacific economy and society.

Practice speaking English in a friendly, small group led by a trained facilitator. Discussion topics include everyday life, news, local things to do and more.

All levels are welcome. No registration is needed.

 

Children and their caregivers are welcome to join us for fun songs, stories, fingerplays and activities that can help build early literacy skills for children.

Join us for Bilingual Storytime in Spanish and English. Our librarians will share stories, songs, rhymes, and movement designed for children ages 0-5.

Join the Colonial Heights Library for STEAM for Kids. Each program features a different activity that explores Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. This program is designed for kids ages 6-12. 

K - 8 students may drop in for homework help.  Volunteer homework coaches will be available to help students with homework assignments.

Join us each month for lively and engaging in-person discussions of a wide variety of titles. In January, we will be discussing Good Talk by Mira Jacob. Copies of this month’s title are available for pick-up at the South Natomas Library’s circulation desk. New members are always welcome!

Students in Kindergarten through 8th grade can attend the Homework Zone and will be helped by trained Teen Homework Coaches in completing their school assignments. Drop-in homework help is available every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00-5:30 pm in the Children's Area.

Join us for Explore and Learn, a program with fun learning activities for young children and their caregivers to meet others and play together.

This program is free and designed for children 0 - 5. No registration, drop-ins welcome.

Stories, songs, and fun for 0-5 year-olds and their caregivers. There are two Storytime sessions at 10:30 and 11:30 with one Stay and Play in between.
