Body Positive Yoga

Join us for a virtual 6-week body positive yoga series, led by local yoga instructor, Kirsten Johnson. Explore the connection of mind, body, and breath in a safe, body positive environment that is inclusive for all abilities and body types. This series will break down beginner foundational poses, with a different weekly focus to build on poses that can be done at home, using simple props, such as a wall or chair. 

These sessions will take place via Zoom. Log-in information is below.

Week 1 (July 11) - Sun Salutations
Week 2 (July 18) - Standing and Grounding
Week 3 (July 25) - Playing with Balance
Week 4 (August 1) - Bending and Twisting
Week 5 (August 8) - Flying and Core
Week 6 (August 15) - Restorative and Relaxing 

It is not required to attend all 6 sessions. You may come for all, some, or just one. 

Following the yoga program each week, we will present a short book talk on titles related to yoga and body positivity. 

About the instructor: Kirsten Johnson has been practicing yoga since 2012. She has certifications in Curvy Yoga, Yoga for All, Trauma Informed Yoga, and Kid's Yoga. She resides in Sacramento and currently teaches classes at RAW Yoga Studio, Good Elephant Sacramento, and for private clients and groups. Her passion is to empower and heal communities through yoga.
