Event Details

Join us for the 12th annual Sacramento Archives Crawl which will be held on October 1, 2022, from 10 am to 4 pm, at SPL’s Central Library, the California State Archives, the California State Library, and the Center for Sacramento History. This year’s theme, Acquired Tastes: Food and Agriculture in Regional Collections, will see host sites open their doors and food-centered collections to the region’s lovers of history, food, and agriculture. Shuttle transportation is provided between sites and you won’t want to miss our scavenger hunt and raffle. How does a $100 gift card to the Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op or Raley’s Fine Foods sound? A swag bag and gift card from the legendary Sudwerk? You’ve got to play to win and amass the specialized knowledge that comes with attending the Sacramento Archive Crawl. Just by attending, you’ll receive a set of our always popular Archives Crawl coasters. Finally, as a primary facilitator of the event, SPL’s own Sacramento Room will be providing behind-the-scenes tours of its rare books vault while also hosting a 1:00 pm talk on Sacramento food history by the prolific Maryellen Burns, the always entertaining author of Lost Restaurants of Sacramento and Their Recipes. Lots to do and lots to learn – We hope to see you there!
